One of the little millets, little millet (Panicum miliare), is known as kutki in Hindi, sava in Marathi, gajro in Gujrati, same in Kannada, samai in Tamil, and samalu in Telugu (Telugu). Little millet can be consumed by persons of all ages. Little millet is a traditional grain that is grown all over India. Little millet is a relative of proso millet, although its seeds are significantly smaller than proso millet. Rice is the most common form of consumption. Any recipe that calls for rice can be made with a small amount of millet. Because it has the tiniest grains, it cooks more quickly than other millets.
