Chutney Powder, also known in Tamil as 'Molaga Podi,' is a spice powder made by crushing pulses with chilies. It's a spicy side dish that goes well with idlis, dosas, and uttappams.
To produce a paste, combine one spoon of chutney powder with a little sesame oil or other oil and serve. When you don't have time to create sambar and coconut chutney, this is a great and simple addition to any South Indian meal.
To make masala idli, add mustard seeds, chilies, and curry leaves to the oil. Then, on low heat, add the spicy chutney powder and mix. Then add the idlis, whole or broken up.
